Community Sponsorships Print Page
We are committed to enhancing the well-being of the communities where we do business.
Our community investment program focuses on areas where our unique involvement can produce a tangible and measurable result. Employee involvement is key to our program and Inter Pipeline encourages employees to be actively involved in the decision making process.
We support programs and initiatives whose goals include building a self-sustaining legacy in the community. To ensure that our support has the greatest impact possible, our community investment initiatives focus on five areas – youth & education, health & human services, community development and the environment.

The Prostate Cancer Centre MAN VAN
Over the next month, the MAN VAN will be rolling through rural Alberta towns as part of their program, offering mobile blood testing for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the leading cancer in Albertan men. One man in seven will develop prostate cancer in his lifetime, and approximately 2600 men are diagnosed annually with prostate cancer. When detected early, prostate cancer is one of the most successfully treated types of cancer. No appointment necessary. All men over the age of 40 are encouraged to stop by and receive their free and confidential baseline blood test in the comfort of the 32’ motor home called the MAN VAN.
Inter Pipeline is pleased to support the MAN VAN, and the staff and volunteers at the Prostate Cancer Centre who are dedicated to educating men about the importance of early detection.
Inn from the Cold
Inn from the Cold is an organization borne from a concern for the significant number of families that face homelessness in Calgary. The Inn's mission is to provide emergency shelter, support, and programs to homeless children, their families and others in need, with the goal of building healthy, stable families and ending homelessness. The Inn operates year round and coordinates a large number of churches, synagogues, mosques and community associations that come together to provide temporary emergency shelter.
Inter Pipeline is a proud supporter of the Inn. Our employees volunteer regularly at the Inn, helping to serve evening meals. Corporately Inter Pipeline supports various initiatives at the Inn, including the funding of a significant portion of a new kitchen.
Woods Homes started as an orphanage in 1914 when a soldier, about to head overseas, stopped George Wood, a Presbyterian minister, on a street in Innisfail, Alberta to ask if he would care for his two motherless children. The soldier never returned. Thus began a foundation that has grown to serve 20,000 children and their families every year. Woods Homes operates as a place of trust where young people and their families can turn to for help. Woods Homes' mission is captured in their motto: We Never Say No; We Never Give Up; We Never Turn Anyone Away.
Inter Pipeline supports the initiatives of Woods Homes with their particular emphasis on troubled youth. At the Children's Village school, children with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties are counselled and supported. Many children arrived at school without proper nourishment. Inter Pipeline has financed a kitchen facility at the Children's Village school to provide hot meals and useful nutritional education that otherwise might not be available.
